Leipzig

After the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989, Leipzig received the highest investment-per-capita flow in Germany after Berlin.

The "arcumhalls" are situated in the eastern part of the city, which, together with the north-eastern part of the city (New Trade Fair etc.) forms the strongest economic area of the city.

Leipzig, recorded for the first time in 1165 as a city, has been an industrially renowned Trade Centre since the 15th century. After the economic peaks of the industrial age in the 19th and 20th century, and after the fall of the Berlin wall, Leipzig is once again developing to become the leading Trade, Fair and Services Centre in the New Federal States of Germany.
