Germany

Amongst the New Federal States of Germany, Saxonia is one of the leading Federal States with the highest rate of growth.

The immense amount of capital which was invested in Leipzig and its infrastructure after the fall of the Berlin wall, has led to Leipzig becoming the economic centre of Germany's Eastern States. As a result, Leipzig is set to become a centre for Central European business expansion.

Already during the 19th century, the advancing industrialisation, in particular in textiles and machine engineering and later in fine mechanics, electronics and polygraphics, created an upswing in Saxonia and made it the leading industrial region of Germany with a high degree of innovation.
